Acts 7:55 NLT

But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God's right hand.

On this verse above, Stephan was appearing before the Jewish Council as he was imprisoned for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was one of the seven men that were chosen to serve at the temple in chapter 6:5. The criteria or the requirements for his position is found in verse 3 of chapter 6 where it says, " And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility."

The phrase 'being full of the Spirit' was evidenced by the fact that he always wanted to do the will of God and please Him rather than pleasing men, regardless of the price to pay. You will notice that he was even sentenced to death by stoning, Acts 7:59-60. Stephen trusted the Holy Spirit to give him utterance for every word delivered by his mouth. The Holy Spirit makes a person to be well respected by people and gives him wisdom to manage his daily affairs. He teaches you how to please God in your daily walk with Christ as recorded in John 14:26.

Even Peter, the bible records him as a man who was full of the Holy Spirit, he uttered only words of wisdom when he was testifying about Jesus Christ before the Sanhedrin in Acts 4:8-10. For this, they were all amazed and freed him. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, no one will be able to withstand your utterances, you will live a free and fire-full life. You will be untouchable! You will be unstoppable!

When, Jesus found Peter and his folks fishing the whole night without catching anything, Jesus being full of the Spirit said to them throw the nets on your right hand side (where they had been throwing the whole night without results) and catch will be great. Notice that with the Holy Spirit you are able to catch where ordinary people cannot catch because the Holy Spirit gives you supernatural abilities that ordinary people possess not. Jonh 21:6.

The Holy Spirit gives you the supernatural power, supernatural abilities and supernatural efforts to do extra-ordinary things. In Greek 'being full' implies not a sudden inspiration, but a permanent state. So be permanently filled with the Holy Spirit by consuming the word of God as your daily bread and in 2016 you will experience an extra-ordinary catch, a permanent increase in your resources and a permanent victory.

Have a splendid day!
