We were bought with a High Price

Ps Zamo

1 Corinthians 6:20 NLT

"for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."

It is so easy for a free slave to forget that its primary redemption purpose is to serve its master's office and not its own accounts and businesses, nevertheless its because of the given freedom of grace. In the above verse, Apostle Paul raises his concern about christians who forget about the value that was paid for their Redemption. He emphasises that what God your master has paid was of a high price.

That means God was on an auction with Satan and He bidded high with the blood of Jesus Christ. We were the slaves of Satan, being slaves of sin under the authority of darkness, but God through the blood of Jesus Christ bought us back to be His slaves too, the slaves of righteousness under the authority of Light. Rom 6:18. There is no floating freedom at all, no freedom to do your own will as you please!

Notice the second part, "So you must honor God with your body." This is a command not a request. If you carefully analyse this verse you could clearly see that there was a crisis in the Corinth church saints, they had forgotten their primary obligation which was to give their bodies as living sacrifice to God, not their will but God's will. This is common to the present church as well. God wants us as living sacrifices, not animals, to serve and obey Him with our bodies, daily laying aside our own desires to follow Him, putting all our energy and resources at His disposal and trusting Him to guide us throughout our daily activities. We do this out of gratitude that our sins has been forgiven.

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.// Romans 12:1 KJVS

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Have a splendid day!
